I am delighted to welcome each of you back to work, safe and rejuvenated, as we embark on another promising year. It is a privilege to express my heartfelt gratitude for your unwavering dedication and invaluable contributions. I am truly honored to collaborate with such a self-driven, highly skilled, and committed team. Together, we have achieved remarkable milestones, and it is with your steadfast support that we continue to thrive.
Reflecting on 2024, it was a transformative year for the Department of Factories Inspectorate (DFI). We enhanced our performance appraisal system, set ambitious targets, and implemented impactful policies. These initiatives have positioned us for sustained success and strengthened our revenue generation strategies, enabling us to exceed expectations.
As we move into 2025, we are poised to introduce new policies and targets aimed at enhancing our operational efficiency and appraisal systems. This year, we will place significant focus on construction sites and companies, underscoring our commitment to health and safety in these critical areas. The department’s financial target is set at Four Million, Five Hundred Thousand Ghana Cedis (4.5M), a goal I am confident we can achieve through our collective determination and diligence.
Our overarching mandate remains clear: to reduce workplace incidents, injuries, and fatalities to zero. To this end we aim to conduct at least 4000 inspections across the country this year. Each one of us will play an integral role in this mission. With courage, collaboration, and a steadfast work ethic, I am certain we will overcome challenges, meet our targets, and elevate the reputation of the DFI.
Let us embrace the opportunities and projects that lie ahead with enthusiasm and a shared commitment to excellence. Together, we will achieve even greater success in 2025.
Wishing you and your families a joyful, healthy, and prosperous New Year!
Warm regards,
George D. Gashon, (PhD)
